Founded in 1948, Colombia's professional baseball league draws its franchises from the country's Caribbean coast, a region with deep baseball roots. Colombia first participated in the Caribbean Series in 2020, and in 2022 the Caimanes de Barranquilla became the first Colombian team to win the Caribbean Series. Colombia's champion qualifies through the Serie de las Américas.
