Tigres del Licey

Founded in 1907, Tigres del Licey are the oldest baseball franchise in the Dominican Republic and the most successful in Caribbean Series history. Bearing the iconic blue and white of their colors, the Tigers call Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo their home — a venue shared, in one of sport's great rivalries, with their crosstown opponents Leones del Escogido. Licey's fanbase is the most passionate in the country: on derby nights the stadium splits in two, each half wearing its colors with the intensity of a national war.

With eleven Caribbean Series titles — more than any other franchise in tournament history — Tigres del Licey represent the standard against which all Dominican winter baseball is measured. Their dominance across seven decades has been built on a philosophy of integrating the best Dominican talent returning from Major League rosters with a scouting network that has identified stars before they became stars. The 2023 championship in Caracas, Venezuela, their most recent title, confirmed that the blue machine of Santo Domingo remains the team to beat in Caribbean baseball.
