Margarita Island hosted the Caribbean Series in 2010, and the Dominican Republic's Leones del Escogido claimed the championship with a 5-1 round-robin record, finishing ahead of Puerto Rico's Indios de Mayagüez who were the runner-up. The title added another chapter to Escogido's distinguished history in the regional tournament.
