Founded in 1938 and renamed in honor of Roberto Clemente in 2012, the LBPRC is one of the most storied winter leagues in the Americas and the oldest of the four permanent Caribbean Series member leagues. Puerto Rico's 16 Caribbean Series titles are the product of a baseball culture that has produced Hall of Famers across every generation — from Roberto Clemente and Orlando Cepeda to Roberto Alomar and Iván Rodríguez. The league plays October through February across franchises based in Santurce, Caguas, Mayagüez, Carolina, Ponce, and San Juan.
