Founded in 1970, Algodoneros de Guasave are one of the LMP's historic Sinaloa franchises, representing the agricultural city of Guasave in northwest Mexico. The club won the LMP championship in 1971-72, defeating the Tomateros de Culiacán four games to two in the series final, and went on to represent Mexico at the 1972 Caribbean Series in Santo Domingo. The franchise was relaunched in its modern incarnation in 2019, playing home games at Kuroda Park in Guasave.
At the 1972 Caribbean Series in Santo Domingo, the Algodoneros finished with a 1-5 record, placing last in the tournament. Despite the result, the appearance remains the defining international milestone in the club's history — the only time Guasave has been represented at the Caribbean Series. With the franchise's 2019 relaunch, Algodoneros de Guasave returned to the LMP as part of the league's continued commitment to Sinaloa baseball.

1972 — Caribbean Series Debut in Santo Domingo. Representing Mexico at the 1972 Caribbean Series in Santo Domingo, Algodoneros de Guasave became the first and only club from Guasave to compete in the tournament, finishing with a 1-5 record.
2019 — Franchise Relaunch. The modern Algodoneros de Guasave were relaunched in 2019, returning professional winter baseball to Guasave and to the LMP's roster of active Sinaloa franchises.
