LVBP — Venezuelan Professional Baseball League

Venezuela's top professional winter league, the LVBP has produced some of the greatest Latin American players of all time — from Chico Carrasquel and Luis Aparicio through Davíd Concepción and Ozzie Guillén to Miguel Cabrera and Ronald Acuña Jr. Founded in 1945, the league sends its champion to the Caribbean Series, where Venezuela has won 8 titles. The LVBP runs October through January with eight franchises spanning Caracas, Valencia, Maracaibo, Maracay, La Guaira, and Barquisimeto.
