Bravos de Margarita have one of the most nomadic histories in Venezuelan professional baseball. Founded in 1991 as Petroleros de Cabimas, the franchise relocated and rebranded as Pastora de Occidente in 1995, then as Pastora de los Llanos in 1997, before settling permanently in Porlamar on Margarita Island in 2007 as the Bravos. They play at Estadio Nueva Esparta, representing Venezuela's largest island in the LVBP's annual winter competition.
Since adopting their current identity in 2007, the Bravos de Margarita have competed as the LVBP's island-based franchise, bringing professional winter baseball to Margarita Island's devoted fans.
